The Cross Country Race
“Time to warm up
boys and girls!” Mr Wesbonk shouted loudly. It was the year five boys’ turn. I
was determined to get to the top five.
As soon as I heard
the starting signal, I pushed off and ran as fast as I could on the sandy and
uneven ground.
As I was on third
position, the person in front of me fell down and I overtook him. For the rest
of the race I ran as fast as I could, because I knew that he could overtake me
any minute.
When I passed the
finish line, my mum shouted, “Well done, Connor!”

Cross Country
First I shot along the sunny sandy beach.
Then I jogged across the long itchy grass.
Next I zipped through the strong brown
swaying trees.
After that I dashed past the orange cones
sticking up like mini mountains.
Finally I sprinted to the finish line and I felt great
and very proud.
